The San Antonio Brahmas signed offensive lineman Alex Pihlstrom and defensive back Cameron Dantzler on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Alex Pihlstrom is six foot six and weighs 305 pounds. The 24-year-old from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2024, and was released on August 29, 2024.
Collegiately, Pihlstrom played six seasons at Illinois (2017-22) playing center, left guard, and tight end in 31 games for the Fighting Illini. He was named Second Team All-Big Ten and an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2022. In addition, he was part of the first offensive line in Illinois history to be named a Joe Moore Award finalist
Cameron Dantzler is six foot two and weighs 188 pounds. The 25-year-old from Hammond, Louisiana, made three tackles (3 solo), one pass breakup, and one interception in one preseason game for the Houston Texans in 2023. After Houston released him, Dantzler signed with the New Orleans Saints on September 20, 2024, and appeared in two games before spending the rest of the season on the practice squad.
Before New Orleans, Dantzler was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round (89th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Minnesota with 149 tackles (125 solo, 24 assists), six tackles for loss, three interceptions, 17 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 35 games, of which 26 were starts.
Dantzler was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2020. After Minnesota, Dantzler spent time with the Washington Commanders, Buffalo Bills, and Houston Texans.
Collegiately, Dantzler played three seasons at Mississippi State (2017-19) with 78 tackles (56 solo, 22 assists), four tackles for loss, one sack, five interceptions for 23 yards, 18 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 29 games for the Bulldogs. Dantzler was named Second Team All-SEC in 2018.
