The B.C. Lions released linebacker Markcus Jean-Loescher on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Markcus Jean-Loescher is six foot two and weighs 225 pounds. The 24-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, attended training camp for the B.C. Lions in 2023 before returning to St. Mary’s. Jean Loescher signed with the Lions on November 28, 2023. The Lions drafted Jean-Loescher in the fourth round (34th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft.

Collegiately, Jean-Loescher played four seasons at St. Mary’s University (2019, 2021-23) with 68 tackles (57 solo, 22 assists), six tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and three pass breakups in 18 games for the Huskies.
