Edmonton Elks sign quarterback Woodrow Lowe III

The Edmonton Elks signed quarterback Woodrow Lowe III on Friday. Lowe III is the grandson of Woodrow Lowe Sr., who played 11 years in the NFL for the San Diego Chargers and was a three-time All-American linebacker at Alabama.

Woodrow Lowe III is six foot two and weighs 215 pounds. The 25-year-old from Collierville, Tennessee, played one season at West Virginia (2018-19) completing 4 of 4 passes (100%) for two yards and four carries for 21 yards in six games for the Mountaineers.

In 2018, Lowe III completed 2 of 2 passes (100%) for no yards, and one carry for nine yards in one game against Syracuse in the Camping World Bowl.

Next, Lowe II transferred to Southern Mississippi (2020-22) completing 61 of 103 passes (59%) for 744 yards, three touchdowns, five interceptions, and 69 carries for 127 yards, two touchdowns for the Golden Eagles.

He was a member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2021. Then, Lowe III finished his collegiate career at Liberty in 2023 completing 0 of 3 passes, and three carries for 10 yards in two games for the Flames.
