The Memphis Showboats released running back Trey Williams and offensive lineman Terry Poole on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Trey Williams is five foot seven and weighs 200 pounds. The 31-year-old from Spring, Texas, did not play for the Memphis Showboats in 2024. The Showboats signed Williams as a free agent on February 19, 2024.

Before Memphis, Williams signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He had stints with the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Antonio Commanders, Seattle Dragons, Calgary Stampeders, and Toronto Argonauts. Williams played six NFL games with two carries for 12 yards.

The New Jersey Generals drafted Williams in the 28th round (230th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, had 118 carries for 579 yards, two touchdowns, 24 catches for 126 yards, and three kick returns for 63 yards in 10 games for the Generals in 2022.

In 2023, Williams had 35 carries for 205 yards, two touchdowns, two catches for two yards, and one kick return for 13 yards in six games for the New Jersey Generals in 2023. After New Jersey, Williams signed with the Pittsburgh Maulers on October 4, 2023, but the Maulers were not included in the USFL and XFL merger that formed the United Football League (UFL).

Collegiately, Williams played three seasons at Texas A&M (2012-14) with 204 carries for 1,343 yards, 18 touchdowns, 38 catches for 330 yards, one touchdown, and 70 kick returns for 1,684 yards in 36 games for the Aggies.

Terry Poole is six foot five and weighs 325 pounds. The 32-year-old from Seaside, California, played three games, of which one was a start for the Memphis Showboats in 2024. The Showboats are ranked seventh in total offense (726 yards), rushing (165 yards), passing (561 yards), and touchdowns (4) in three games.

The Showboats drafted Poole in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. Before Memphis, Poole was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round (130th pick) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons in Seattle on their practice squad.

Next, Poole started eight games for the San Diego Fleet (AAF) in 2019 before the league ceased operations. In 2020, Poole started five games for the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) before the league suspended operations due to the pandemic.

In 2022, Poole was drafted by the New Jersey Generals (USFL) in the seventh round (56th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. That season, the Generals won the North Division title but lost to the Philadelphia Stars in the playoffs. The following season, Poole played one game for the Generals before he was released and later claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Maulers. He played a total of nine games.

Poole was part of an offensive line that helped the Pittsburgh quarterbacks complete 167 of 270 passes (61.9%) for 1,437 yards (143.7%), six touchdowns, six interceptions, and allowed 33 sacks.

In addition, the Maulers’ running game had 250 carries for 989 yards (98.9 AVG), and six touchdowns, and the receivers had 168 catches for 1,653 yards, six touchdowns. The Maulers appeared in the 2023 USFL Championship game but lost to the Birmingham Stallions 28-12.

Collegiately, Poole played two seasons at Monterey Peninsula College (2010-11) earning First Team Region III All-California as a sophomore helping the Lobos finish 7-4 in the 2011 season. Then, he transferred to San Diego State (2012-14) playing both tackle positions in 25 games for the Aztecs. In 2013, Poole allowed two sacks in 492 snaps.
