Edmonton Elks sign defensive back KiShawn Walker

The Edmonton Elks signed defensive back KiShawn Walker on Tuesday.

KiShawn Walker is six foot two and weighs 190 pounds. The 25-year-old from Owensboro, Kentucky, made 12 tackles (8 solo, 4 assists), half tackle for loss, and two interceptions for three yards in three games for the San Diego Strike Force (IFL) in 2024. He was named the IFL Player of the Week in Week 2 against the Duke City Gladiators with four tackles, half tackles for loss, and two interceptions.

Before San Diego, Walker attended the Houston Texans rookie minicamp in 2022 and had a brief stint with the St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL) in 2023. Then, Walker played for the Northern Arizona Wranglers (IFL) in 2023 with 65 tackles (43 solo, 22 assists), two tackles for loss, eight interceptions for 66 yards, nine pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 17 games on his way to being named to the IFL All-Rookie Team.

Collegiately, Walker played two seasons at Georgetown College (2016-17) with 50 tackles (38 solo, 12 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions for 127 yards, and eight pass breakups in 20 games for the Tigers. Next, Walker transferred to Western Kentucky (2018-19) but did not play a game for the Hilltoppers.  

Then, Walker transferred to Kentucky Wesleyan College (2020-21) with 52 tackles (32 solo, 20 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, six interceptions for 57 yards, one touchdown, 26 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 16 games for the Panthers. He was named First Team All-G-MAC and First Team All-Region in 2021.
