Winnipeg Blue Bombers sign wide receiver Myron Mitchell

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed wide receiver Myron Mitchell on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Myron Mitchell is six foot one and weighs 180 pounds. The 25-year-old from Jasper, Alabama, signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2021, and spent most of the season on the practice squad. He appeared in one game for the Vikings before being released on August 29, 2022.

On December 13, 2022, Mitchell signed with the Michigan Panthers and was traded three days later to the Birmingham Stallions. In 2023, Mitchell was targeted 21 times making 15 catches for 138 yards, one touchdown, and one kick return for 23 yards in 10 games helping the Stallions win their second consecutive USFL Championship over the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Stallions released him on March 22, 2024.

Collegiately, Mitchell played two seasons at Butler Community College (2016-17) making 42 catches for 510 yards, two touchdowns, one carry for three yards, eight kick returns for 135 yards, five punt returns for 24 yards, and three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in 19 games for the Grizzlies.

Then, Mitchell transferred to the University of Alabama-Birmingham (2019-20) making 63 catches for 990 yards, seven touchdowns, two carries for 13 yards, 23 kick returns for 497 yards, one touchdown, 18 punt returns for 78 yards, and two tackles (2 solo) in 23 games for the Blazers.
