The St. Louis Battlehawks placed defensive back Ben Deluca on the injured reserve list on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions report.

Ben Deluca is six foot one and weighs 202 pounds. The 26-year-old from Orlando, Florida, made four tackles (3 solo, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in three games for the Battlehawks in 2024.

The Battlehawks drafted Deluca in the first round (3rd pick) in Phase 2 of the 2022 XFL Draft. In 2023, Deluca made 25 tackles (14 solo, 11 assists), two tackles for loss, and one pass breakup in five games, of which three were starts.

Before St. Louis, Deluca signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2021. Deluca appeared in three games for the Chargers in his rookie season recording no stats. In 2022, Deluca made 14 tackles (9 solo, 5 assists) in three preseason games.

Collegiately, Deluca played five seasons at Charlotte (2016-20) with 619 tackles (364 solo, 255 assists), eight tackles for loss, two sacks, four interceptions for 32 yards, 39 pass breakups, 24 forced fumbles, and 15 fumble recoveries in 76 games for the 49ers.

Deluca was named a three-time All-C-USA Honorable Mention, two-time First Team All-C-USA by Pro Football Focus, two-time Second Team All-C-USA by Phil Steele, 2016 C-USA All-Freshman Team, and a two-time Team Co-Captain. He holds the record in career tackles, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, and pass breakups.
