The San Antonio Brahmas released defensive back Teez Tabor and placed offensive lineman Derrick Kelly II on the injured reserve list on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Teez Tabor is six foot and weighs 201 pounds. The 28-year-old from Washington, D.C., made 18 tackles (14 solo, 4 assists), and one pass breakup in three games for the San Antonio Brahmas in 2024. The Brahmas drafted Tabor in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft.
Before San Antonio, Tabor was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round (53rd pick) in the 2017 NFL Draft. He made 14 tackles (12 solo, 2 assists), and one quarterback hit in 10 games in 2017. Tabor also had stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, and Indianapolis Colts. Tabor played 39 NFL regular season games with 59 tackles (47 solo, 12 assists), and one quarterback hit.
Then, Tabor signed with the Houston Roughnecks on December 15, 2023. The original Roughnecks were not included in the XFL and USFL merger but the Houston Gamblers took the Roughnecks name.
Collegiately, Tabor played three seasons at Florida (2014-16) with 104 tackles (65 solo, 39 assists), 11 tackles for loss, four sacks, nine interceptions for 129 yards, three touchdowns, 28 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in 37 games for the Gators. He was named a two-time First Team All-SEC.
Derrick Kelly II is six foot five and weighs 320 pounds. The 28-year-old from Gretna, Florida, played three games for the San Antonio Brahmas in 2024. San Antonio’s offense is ranked fourth in total offense (1,145), sixth in rushing yards (256), second in passing yards (889), and tied for first in touchdowns (12). The Brahams signed Kelly II as a free agent on March 7, 2023. He played three games for the Brahmas in 2023.
Before San Antonio, Kelly II signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2019. He also had stints New York Giants, New York Jets, and Cleveland Browns. Kelly II played seven career NFL games.
Collegiately, Kelly II played five seasons at Florida State (2014-18) playing both left tackle and left guard in 33 games, of which 27 were starts. In 2018, Florida State’s offense ranked third in the ACC and 28th in the country with an average of 270.1 passing yards per game.
