The St. Louis Battlehawks signed wide receiver Steven Mitchell Jr. on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Steven Mitchell Jr. is five foot ten and weighs 186 pounds. The 29-year-old from Pasadena, California, was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the fourth round (27th pick) in Phase 6 of the 2022 XFL Draft. In 2023, Mitchell Jr. made 16 catches for 207 yards, four touchdowns, one carry for four yards, one kick return for 21 yards, and two punt returns for 31 yards in nine games. The Battlehawks released Mitchell Jr. on March 22, 2024.
Before St. Louis, Mitchell Jr. signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018. He also spent time with the Houston Texans playing three seasons making seven catches for 97 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 10 games.
Collegiately, Mitchell Jr. played three seasons at USC (2015-17) making 102 catches for 1,205 yards, 9 touchdowns, three carries for seven yards, five kick returns for 91 yards, and two punt returns for two yards in 30 games for the Trojans.
