Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign tight end Camren McDonald

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed tight end Camren McDonald on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Camren McDonald is six foot four and weighs 245 pounds. The 24-year-old from Long Beach, California, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023, but was released on August 1, 2023.

Then, McDonald signed with the Los Angeles Rams on August 5, 2023, appearing in three preseason games. McDonald was targeted one time recording no stats. The Rams released him on August 28, 2023.

Collegiately, McDonald played five seasons at Florida State (2018-22) making 74 catches for 861 yards, five touchdowns, two yards rushing, and seven tackles (7 solo) in 58 games for the Seminoles. In his senior season, McDonald made 21 catches for 312 yards, and one touchdown in 13 games.  

In 2021, McDonald made a career-high 24 catches for 243 yards, two touchdowns, two rushing yards, and three tackles (3 solo) in 12 games. He was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, winner of the Bill McGrotha Award, a Seminole Scholar, a Wuerffel Trophy nominee, and was on the Mackey Award Watch List.
