The Philadelphia Eagles drafted wide receiver Ainias Smith in the fifth round (152nd pick) of the 2024 NFL Draft on Saturday. The pick was acquired from the Washington Commanders on Friday.

Ainias Smith is five foot ten and weighs 200 pounds. The 22-year-old from Missouri City, Texas, made 21 bench presses at the 2024 NFL Combine. He was given a production score of 68, and a 66 in athleticism for a total score of 69.

In 2023, Smith made 53 catches for 795 yards, two touchdowns, five carries for 21 yards, seven kick returns for 103 yards, 20 punt returns for 285 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 12 games for the Aggies. Smith was named First Team All-SEC as a return specialist and all-purpose.

Smith finished his career as the only 2,000-yard receiver in SEC history to also rack up at least 250 rushing, punt return, and kickoff return yards. He registered a catch in 39 consecutive games, matching the longest streak by an Aggie since Christian Kirk (2015-17) had a string of 39 games.

Smith played five seasons at Texas A&M (2019-23) making 180 catches for 2,407 yards, 19 touchdowns, 72 carries for 405 yards, four touchdowns, 20 kick returns for 360 yards, 82 punt returns for 836 yards, two touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solo) in 50 games for the Aggies. He helped the Aggies win the Texas Bowl in 2019 and the 2021 Capital One Orange Bowl.
