Winnipeg Blue Bombers sign punter Dante Mastrogiuseppe

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed punter Dante Mastrogiuseppe on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Dante Mastrogiuseppe is six foot one and weighs 197 pounds. The 26-year-old from London, Ontario, took part in the 2024 CFL Kicking Showcase at Maranatha Christian Schools in San Diego.

Collegiately, Mastrogiuseppe played four seasons at York University (2017-19, 2021), punting the ball 213 times for 8,424 yards (39.5 AVG) with a long of 80 yards, six touchbacks, 30 from inside the 20-yard line, 27 from 50-plus yards, 78 kickoffs for 4,124 yards (52.9 AVG), one touchback, converted 20 of 40 field goals (50%) with a long of 44 yards, five carries for eight yards, and 12 tackles (8 solo, 4 assists) in 24 games for the Lions.

Then, Mastrogiuseppe transferred to the University of Toronto in 2022 punting the ball 55 times for 2,341 yards (42.6 AVG), with a long of 65 yards, and 11 inside the 20-yard line in eight games for the Varsity Blues. In the playoffs, Mastrogiuseppe punted the ball nine times for 352 yards (39.1 AVG) and two from inside the 20-yard line. He was named Second Team OUA All-Star.
