The Calgary Stampeders signed offensive lineman Kyle Saxelid and defensive back Kenyon Reed on Wednesday.

Kyle Saxelid is six foot eight and weighs 320 pounds. The 29-year-old from Elk Grove, California, played one game for the Ticats in 2023 after missing the majority of the season with a knee injury.

Saxelid played nine games for the Ticats in 2022, of which two were starts.

Before Hamilton, Saxelid played for the Nebraska Danger (IFL) in 2018 before being traded that same year to the Cedar Rapids River Kings. In May 2019, he signed with the Edmonton Elks and played 29 games in two seasons, of which 16 were starts.

Collegiately, Saxelid played four seasons at UNLV (2014-17) playing 48 games, of which 39 were starts for the Rebels. In 2016, he was part of an offensive line that helped the UNLV rushing attack to 241.5 yards per game, which ranked 16th in the nation and was the program’s highest average since 1979.

Kenyon Reed is six foot and weighs 180 pounds. The 23-year-old from Sacramento, California, was a redshirt freshman at Kansas State in 2019 before transferring to San Jose State University (2020-23) with 105 tackles (79 solo, 26 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, 12 pass breakups, two interceptions for 58 yards, one touchdown, four kick returns for 27 yards, and 12 punt returns for 95 yards in 37 games for the Spartans.
