On Tuesday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted punter Nik Constantinou in the first round (5th pick) and tight end Thomas Yassmin in the second round (14th pick) of the 2024 CFL Global Draft.
Nik Constantinou is six foot three and weighs 225 pounds. A native of Melbourne, Australia, Constantinou signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2024. In 2023, Constantinou punted the ball 41 times for 1,693 yards (41.3 AVG) with a long of 54 yards, one touchback, 17 fair catches, 17 from inside the 20-yard line, and nine from 50-plus yards in 13 games for Texas A&M. He was a 2023 Campbell Trophy Semifinalist.
Collegiately, Constantinou played five seasons at Texas A&M (2019-23) punting the ball 191 times for 8,174 yards (42.8 AVG) with a long of 65 yards, six touchbacks, 83 fair catches, 77 from inside the 20-yard line, and 39 from 50-plus yards in 48 games for the Aggies. He was named First Team All-SEC by the AP in 2021 and a Ray Guy Award Semifinalist in 2020.
Thomas Yassmin is six foot five and weighs 251 pounds. A native of Sydney, Australia, Yassmin signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2024. In 2023 at Utah, Yassmin made eight catches for 89 yards, and one touchdown in five games for the Utes.
Collegiately, Yassmin played five seasons at Utah (2019-23) making 22 catches for 396 yards, seven touchdowns, one carry for -1 yard, and 11 tackles (5 solo, 6 assists) in 47 games for the Utes.
