The San Antonio Brahmas released quarterback Tom Flacco and running back Brycen Alleyne on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Tom Flacco is six foot one and weighs 205 pounds. The 29-year-old from Audubon, New Jersey, signed with the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) in 2023 but the original Roughnecks were not included in the USFL and XFL merger that formed the United Football Leagues.
Flacco would then sign with the San Antonio Brahmas as a free agent on January 31, 2024. He did not play for the Brahmas in 2024.
Before Houston, Flacco tried out for the Arizona Cardinals after going undrafted in 2020. He would also have brief stints with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Ottawa Redblacks. In 2022, Flacco was a volunteer assistant coach of offense for the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens football team.
Collegiately, Flacco played two seasons at Western Michigan (2015-16) completing 10 of 13 passes (77%) for 188 yards, one touchdown, 38 carries for 340 yards, and two touchdowns in 13 games for the Broncos. Next, Flacco transferred to Rutgers in 2017 but did not play for the Scarlet Knights.
Then, Flacco transferred to Towson (2018-19) completing 484 of 795 passes (61%) for 6,082 yards, 50 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, 278 carries for 1,066 yards, and six touchdowns in 24 games for the Tigers.
Flacco was named First Team All-CAA in 2018, Second Team All-CAA in 2019, CAA Offensive Player of the Year in 2018, and ECAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2018.
Brycen Alleyne is five foot six and weighs 165 pounds. The 27-year-old from Wilmington, Delaware, had seven carries for 15 yards, and two catches for -4 yards in five games for the San Antonio Brahmas in 2024. The Brahmas drafted Alleyne in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft and signed with the team on January 24, 2024.
Before San Antonio, Alleyne was drafted by the Houston Roughnecks in the 11th round (88th pick) in Phase 1 of the 2023 XFL Draft. He had 43 carries for 193 yards, one touchdown, 12 catches for 76 yards, and four kick returns for 82 yards in nine games.
Collegiately, Alleyne played four seasons at Delaware State (2015-18) with 425 carries for 1,710 yards, 11 touchdowns, completed one pass for three yards, one touchdown, 66 catches for 491 yards, two touchdowns, 81 kick returns for 1,836 yards, eight punt returns for 54 yards, and four tackles (4 solo) in 41 games, of which 27 were starts for the Hornets.
