Calgary Stampeders sign WRs Erik Brooks and Maxim Malenfant

The Calgary Stampeders signed wide receivers Erik Brooks and Maxim Malenfant on Thursday.

Erik Brooks is five foot seven and weighs 171 pounds. The 24-year-old from Corona, California, made 60 catches for 788 yards, five touchdowns, one kick return for 35 yards, and 19 punt returns for 174 yards in 13 games for the Fresno Bulldogs in 2023. He was named an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention.

Books played five seasons at Fresno State (2019-23) making 128 catches for 1,548 yards, 10 touchdowns, one kick return for 35 yards, 20 punt returns for 172 yards, and two tackles (2 solo) in 52 games for the Bulldogs. 

Maxim Malenfant is five foot ten and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Drummondville, Quebec, made 29 catches for 266 yards, three touchdowns, three carries for 18 yards, one kick return for 16 yards, and three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist) in eight games for the Ottawa Gee-Gees. He led the Gee-Gees with three touchdown catches and finished second on the team in receptions (29) and receiving yards (266).

Malenfant played four seasons at the University of Ottawa (2019, 2021-23) making 37 catches for 404 yards, three touchdowns, three carries for 18 yards, seven kick returns for 111 yards, five punt returns for 82 yards, and 10 tackles (8 solo, 2 assists) in 26 games for the Gee-Gees. He was named a two-time U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian.
