The San Antonio Brahmas signed quarterback Jayden de Laura and defensive back Teez Tabor on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Jayden de Laura is six foot and weighs 205 pounds. The 22-year-old from Honolulu, Hawaii, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Collegiately, Laura played two seasons at Washington State (2020-21) completing 305 of 488 passes (63%) for 3,684 yards, 28 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 74 carries for 101 yards, five touchdowns, and punted the ball one time for 28 yards reaching inside the 20-yard line.
Laura was named 2021 Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and named a finalist for 2021 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year.
Then, Laura transferred to Arizona (2022-23) completing 361 of 563 passes (64%) for 4,805 yards, 35 touchdowns, 18 interceptions, 95 carries for 243 yards, seven touchdowns, one catch for 11 yards, punted the ball three times for 114 yards (38.0 AVG) with a long of 48 yards, one touchback, one from inside the 20-yard line, and two tackles (2 solo) in 19 games for the Wildcats.
In 2023, Laura completed 89 of 128 passes (70%) for 1,120 yards, 10 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 21 carries for 121 yards, three touchdowns, and punting the ball one time for 31 yards reaching inside the 20-yard line. His 70.0% completion percentage marked the second-highest single-season completion percentage in program history.
Laura was named an All-PAC 12 Honorable Mention and on the watchlist of both the Maxwell Award and Manning Award. In January of 2024, Laura was set to transfer to Texas State but he withdrew his transfer days after settling his civil sexual assault case and public outcry. He then declared for the NFL Draft on February 22, 2024.
Teez Tabor is six foot and weighs 201 pounds. The 28-year-old from Washington, D.C., made 18 tackles (14 solo, 4 assists), and one pass breakup in three games for the San Antonio Brahmas in 2024. The Brahmas drafted Tabor in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. San Antonio released him on April 23, 2024.
Before San Antonio, Tabor was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round (53rd pick) in the 2017 NFL Draft. He made 14 tackles (12 solo, 2 assists), and one quarterback hit in 10 games in 2017. Tabor also had stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, and Indianapolis Colts. Tabor played 39 NFL regular season games with 59 tackles (47 solo, 12 assists), and one quarterback hit.
Then, Tabor signed with the Houston Roughnecks on December 15, 2023. The original Roughnecks were not included in the XFL and USFL merger but the Houston Gamblers took the Roughnecks name.
Collegiately, Tabor played three seasons at Florida (2014-16) with 104 tackles (65 solo, 39 assists), 11 tackles for loss, four sacks, nine interceptions for 129 yards, three touchdowns, 28 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in 37 games for the Gators. He was named a two-time First Team All-SEC.
