The B.C. Lions signed wide receiver Ezechiel Tieide, offensive lineman George Una, linebacker Terrence Ganyi, defensive backs Christophe Beaulieu and Dawson Marchant, and kicker Carl Meyer on Tuesday.
Ezechiel Tieide is six foot two and weighs 202 pounds. A native of Lachine, Quebec, Tieide was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the second round (19th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft.
In 2023, Tieide transferred to Concordia University making 28 catches for 471 yards, six touchdowns, completed one pass for 18 yards, four kick returns for 55 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 8 games for the Stingers.
Tieide started his collegiate career at Boston College (2020-21) as a defensive back making two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 12 games for the Eagles. In his final season, he converted into a wide receiver. Then, he transferred to Toledo in 2022 making two catches for six yards in seven games for the Rockets.
George Una is six foot three and weighs 300 pounds. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Una was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the first round (6th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft.
Collegiately, Una played three seasons at the University of Windsor (2019-23) playing 24 games for the Lancers. He made one catch for four yards, and one touchdown during his time at Windsor. Una was named First Team OUA All-Star in 2023 and suited up in the 2023 East-West Bowl.
Terrence Ganyi is six foot two and weighs 220 pounds. A native of Montreal, Quebec, Ganyi was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the sixth round (53rd pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft.
Collegiately, Ganyi played two seasons at the University of Connecticut (2018-19) making 13 tackles (5 solo, 8 assists), a half tackle for loss, and one kick return for five yards in 13 games for the Huskies. Then, Ganyi transferred to Maine (2022-23) making 12 tackles (6 solo, 6 assists), and a half tackle for loss in 10 games for the Black Bears.
Christophe Beaulieu is six foot two and weighs 195 pounds. A native of Blainville, Quebec, was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the third round (26th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft.
Collegiately, Beaulieu played three seasons at the University of Laval (2021-23) making 66 tackles (53 solo, 13 assists), three tackles for loss, four interceptions for 93 yards, and 13 pass breakups in 22 games for the Rouge Et Or. He was named First Team U Sports All-Star in 2022, and a two-time RSEQ Defensive All-Star Team in 2022 and 2023.
Dawson Marchant is six foot two and weighs 195 pounds. A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Marchant was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the seventh round (62nd pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft.
In 2023, Marchant made 26 tackles (21 solo, 5 assists), one tackle for loss, two pass breakups, and one blocked punt in 11 games for the Rangers. At the combine, Marchant benched 15, a 4.66 in the 40-yard Dash, a 7.06 in the Cone Drills, and a 4.4 in the Shuttle Drills.
Marchant has played two seasons at Northwestern Oklahoma State (2022-23) making 60 tackles (43 solo, 17 assists), two tackles for loss, one interception, five pass breakups, and one blocked punt in 21 games for the Rangers.
Before Northwestern Oklahoma State, Marchant played one season at Simon Fraser University in 2019 with 27 tackles (15 solo, 12 assists), eight pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 10 games for the Red Leafs.
Then, Marchant left Simon Fraser to play for the Langley Rams (CJFL) in 2021 with 12 tackles (9 solo, 3 assists), three interceptions, and five pass breakups in seven games helping the Rams win the CJFL Championship.
Carl Meyer is six foot three and weighs 231 pounds. A native of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, Meyer was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the first round (6th pick) in the 2024 CFL Global Draft.
Before B.C., Meyer played for the Jacksonville Sharks (NAL) in 2023. In 2024, Meyer took part in the CFL Kicking Showcase in San Diego. Meyer played 64 games for the Dragons RFC of the Welsh Rugby Union from 2014-18 and later played for the New Orleans Gold (MLR) in 2020.
In addition, the Lions signed defensive lineman Sam Burton and defensive back Isaiah Abraham.
Sam Burton is six foot and weighs 253 pounds. The 24-year-old from Boca Raton, Florida, played six seasons at Marshall (2018-23) making 140 tackles (41 solo, 99 assists), 21.5 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one kick return for eight yards in 57 games for the Thundering Herd.
Isaiah Abraham is six foot one and weighs 225 pounds. A native of Independence, Oregon, Abraham played five seasons at Western Oregon (2018-23) making 135 tackles (93 solo, 42 assists), 18 tackles for loss, six sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick in 44 games for the Wolves.
