The San Antonio Brahmas released linebacker Tarell Basham on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Tarell Basham is six foot four and weighs 266 pounds. The 29-year-old from Rocky Mount, Virginia, made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in one game for the San Antonio Brahmas in 2024. The Brahmas signed Basham on March 11, 2024.
Before Cincinnati, Basham was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round (80th pick) in the 2017 NFL Draft. He played 16 games for the Colts with 7 tackles (5 solo, 2 assists), one tackle for loss, two sacks, four quarterback hits, and one forced fumble.
Basham also had stints with the New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, and Tennessee Titans. Basham played 82 games, of which 18 were starts with 128 tackles (70 solo, 58 assists), 13 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 35 quarterback hits, one interception, seven pass breakups, five forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Then, Basham signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent on April 5, 2023, but did not play in the preseason and was released on August 25, 2023.
Collegiately, Basham played four seasons at Ohio (2013-16) with 152 tackles (75 solo, 77 assists), 38.5 tackles for loss, 27 sacks, five pass breakups, five forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 50 games for the Bobcats.
