Lehigh Valley Phantoms keep season alive with a shutout win over Hershey

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (1-2) hosted the Hershey Bears (2-1) on Wednesday night from the PPL Center for Game 3 of the Second Round Calder Cup Playoffs.

At 5:44 in the first period, Lehigh Valley defenseman Emil Andrae (2) scored a power play goal that made it 1-0 Phantoms with assists by Olle Lycksell (3) and Cooper Marody (3). A minute and sixteen seconds later, Lehigh Valley forward Olle Lycksell (1) extended Lehigh Valley’s lead to 2-0 with another power play goal. Cooper Marody (4) and Bobby Brink (3) assisted with Lycksell’s goal.

That was all the Phantoms needed and they shut out the Hershey Bears by the final score of 2-0. The series is now 2-1 in favor of Hershey. The Phantoms finished the night with 22 shots on goal, committed five penalties, went 2 for 3 on the power play, and Cal Peterson made all 22 saves.
