Michigan Panthers to sign LB London Harris and DE Jesus Gibbs

The Michigan Panthers are set to sign linebacker London Harris and defensive end Jesus Gibbs on Thursday according to Pro Football Newsroom’s James Larsen. In addition, the Panthers placed linebacker Frank Ginda on the injured reserve list.

London Harris is six foot one and weighs 230 pounds. The 24-year-old from Rosharon, Texas, went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft but was invited to two rookie minicamps with the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts.

In 2022, Harris made 81 tackles (38 solo, 43 assists), three tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 12 games for the Texas State Bobcats.

Collegiately, Harris played five seasons at Texas State (2018-22) making 160 tackles (66 solo, 94 assists), nine tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two blocked kicks in 57 games for the Bobcats.

Jesus Gibbs is six foot four and weighs 275 pounds. The 24-year-old from Dumfries, Virginia, earned a rookie minicamp invite from the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024. In 2023, Gibbs made 40 tackles (23 solo, 17 assists), 12.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 11 games for the Towson Tigers. He was named Second Team All-CAA and Second All-CAA by Phil Steele in 2023.

Collegiately, Gibbs started at South Carolina in 2018 as a redshirt freshman. Then, he transferred to Towson (2019, 2021-23) making 109 tackles (56 solo, 53 assists), 25.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 35 games for the Tigers. He was named a two-time Second Team All-CAA in 2022 and 2023.

Frank Ginda is six foot and weighs 225 pounds. The 26-year-old from Los Banos, California, made 35 tackles (21 solo, 14 assists) and three tackles for loss in six games for the Michigan Panthers in 2024.

In 2023, Ginda made 104 tackles (48 solo, 56 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and five pass breakups in ten games for the Panthers.

In the playoffs, Ginda made 11 tackles (6 solo, 5 assists), two tackles for loss, and one sack against the Pittsburgh Maulers. Ginda was named USFL Defensive Player of the Year and made the USFL All-Star Team.

After the season, Ginda signed with the Atlanta Falcons. He played two preseason games with 12 tackles (3 solo, 9 assists). After he was released by the Falcons on August 29, 2023, Ginda re-signed with the Panthers on October 1, 2023. Ginda had two stints on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad in 2023.

The Panthers drafted Ginda in the 30th round (244th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. Ginda made 90 tackles (42 solo, 48 assists), six tackles for loss, one sack, and one pass breakup in ten games for the Panthers in 2022.

Before Michigan, Ginda signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He later spent time with the Miami Dolphins, San Diego Fleet (AAF), New Orleans Saints, and the New York Guardians (XFL).

Collegiately, Ginda played three seasons at San Jose State (2015-17) with 352 tackles (186 solo, 166 assists), 29 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and seven pass breakups in 38 games for the Spartans. He was named First Team All-Mountain West in 2017.
