The Hamilton Tiger-Cats released tight end Thaddeus Moss, wide receivers JuanCarlos Santana, Jamal Turner, and Kaine Stevenson, defensive lineman Jamal Davis II, defensive back Caleb Biggers, and placekicker Keiran Burnham. In addition, the Ticats placed fullback Bailey Feltmate on the retired list on Friday.
Thaddeus Moss is six foot three and weighs 249 pounds. The 25-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, signed with the Ticats on February 22, 2024. In 2023, Moss made 3 catches for 38 yards, and one touchdown in eight games for the Birmingham Stallions helping Birmingham win its second USFL championship.
The Stallions signed Moss on April 10, 2023. Before Birmingham, Moss signed with the Washington Football Team in 2020. He would also spend time with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Collegiately, Moss played one season at North Carolina State in 2016 with 6 catches for 49 yards, and 1 touchdown in 13 games for the Wolfpack. Then, Moss transferred to LSU (2017-19) with 47 catches for 570 yards, and 4 touchdowns in 14 games for the Tigers.
In the 2019 Peach Bowl, Moss caught 4 passes for 99 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown helping the Tigers win the beat Oklahoma 63-28, and caught 5 passes for 36 yards, and 2 touchdowns against Clemson in the CFP National Championship.
JuanCarlos Angulo-Santana is six foot and weighs 183 pounds. The 25-year-old from Katy, Texas, signed with the Ticats on February 20, 2024. Before Hamilton, Angulo-Santana earned NFL mini-camp invites from the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks, and later spent time with the San Antonio Brahmas (XFL) in 2023.
Collegiately, Angulo-Santana played five seasons at Tulsa (2018-22) with 176 catches for 2,640 yards, 18 touchdowns, one carry for six yards, three kick returns for 59 yards, and three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist) in 50 games for the Golden Hurricanes.
Jamal Turner is six foot six and weighs 245 pounds. The 25-year-old from Montgomery, Alabama, signed with the Ticats on January 30, 2024.
Collegiately, Turner played six seasons at Toledo (2017-22) making 46 catches for 577 yards, nine touchdowns, and one kick return for seven yards in 50 games for the Rockets.
Kaine Stevenson is six foot and weighs 203 pounds. The 26-year-old from Windsor, Ontario, signed with the Ticats on May 8, 2024. In 2023, Stevenson made 29 catches for 372 yards, and three touchdowns in eight games for the Guelph Gryphons. At the combine, Stevenson benched 15, a 4.82 in the 40-yard Dash, 7.62 in the Cone Drills, and a 4.57 in the Shuttle Drills.
Stevenson has played five seasons at Guelph University (2019-23) making 48 catches for 547 yards, three touchdowns, 101 carries for 445 yards, three touchdowns, and 14 punt returns for 206 yards in 23 games for the Gryphons.
Before Guelph, Stevenson played two seasons for the Westshore Rebels (CFJL) making 45 catches for 606 yards, two touchdowns, 27 carries for 350 yards, three touchdowns, 23 kick returns for 630 yards, 10 punt returns for 61 yards, 11 tackles (9 solo, 2 assists), one pass breakup, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in 16 games.
Jamal Davis II is six foot four and weighs 250 pounds. The 28-year-old from Canton, Ohio, made five tackles, one tackle on special teams, and two sacks in four games for the Ticats in 2023. The Ticats signed Davis II as a free agent on September 27, 2023.
In addition, Davis II made 22 tackles, one tackle on special teams, and three sacks in 14 games for the Alouettes in 2023. The Alouettes re-signed Davis II to a two-year contract on September 16, 2022.
Before Montreal, Davis II signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2019. After being released by Houston, Davis II signed with the Indianapolis Colts and was placed on the practice squad. Later, Davis II signed with the Miami Dolphins and played three regular season games. In 2020, he had stints with the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns.
The Alouettes signed Davis II in 2021. He played two seasons in Montreal with 27 tackles and six sacks in 15 games, of which 14 were starts. In 2022, Davis II signed with the Los Angeles Chargers but would later return to Montreal.
Collegiately, Davis II played two seasons at the University of Pittsburgh (2014-15) with one tackle in ten games for the Panthers. Then, he transferred to Akron (2017-18) with 149 tackles (86 solo, 63 assists), 31.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, and six pass breakups in 26 games for the Zips. He was named First-Team All-MAC in 2018.
Caleb Biggers is five foot ten and weighs 202 pounds. The 24-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland, signed with the Ticats on March 4, 2024. In 2023, Biggers made nine tackles (7 solo, 2 assists), half a sack, one quarterback hit, one interception for 27 yards, one touchdown, and three pass breakups in four preseason games for the Cleveland Browns. The Browns signed Biggers as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023.
Collegiately, Biggers played three seasons at Bowling Green University (2018-20) with 100 tackles (64 solo, 36 assists), four tackles for loss, four pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in 25 games for the Falcons. In 2019, Biggers tied a school record with a 100-yard fumble recovery against Central Michigan, which was returned for a touchdown.
Then, Biggers transferred to Boise State University (2021-22) with 73 tackles (57 solo, 16 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception for one yard, 10 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 26 games for the Broncos.
In 2021, Biggers recorded a team-high nine tackles against BYU. In his final season in 2022, Biggers made 39 tackles (32 solo, 7 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, one interception for one yard, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumbler recovery in 14 games. He was named an All-Mountain West Conference Honorable Mention in 2022 and was on the Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List in 2023.
Before college, Biggers played two years of varsity football at Calvert Hall College High School for head coach Donald Davis playing running back and defensive back. He rushed for 107 yards, two touchdowns, 42 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He was named All-MIAA and team Most Valuable Player.
Keiran Burnham is six foot one and weighs 199 pounds. The 29-year-old from Lisburn, United Kingdom, was with the B.C. Lions and Ottawa Redblacks practice squads in 2023. He signed with the Ticats on December 8, 2023.
Before B.C., Burnham was drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in the seventh round (61st pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. He was with the Stampeders for two seasons but never played a game.
Collegiately, Burnham played four seasons at St. Francis Xavier (2016-19) making 29 of 37 field goals (78%), with a long of 47 yards, converted 27 extra points, and punted the ball 234 punts for 9,002 yards (34.5 AVG), with a long of 64 yards, 51 from inside the 20-yard line, and two touchbacks in 32 games for the X-Men. Burnham was a two-time AUS champion in 2016 and 2018.
Bailey Feltmate is six foot two and weighs 240 pounds. The 26-year-old from Moncton, Alberta, made one tackle and 15 tackles on special teams in 16 games for the Ticats in 2023. The Ticats drafted Feltmate in the second round (17th pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. In three seasons, Feltmate has four tackles and 35 tackles on special teams in 43 games.
Collegiately, Feltmate played five seasons at Acadia University (2016-20) with 203 tackles (152 solo, 102 assists), 14 tackles for loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and five pass breakups in 31 games for the Axemen.
