Ottawa Redblacks sign wide receiver Nick Mardner

The Ottawa Redblacks signed wide receiver Nick Mardner on Monday.

Nick Mardner is six foot six and weighs 206 pounds. The 24-year-old from Oakville, Ontario, was drafted by the Ottawa Redblacks in the first round (2nd pick) of the 2024 CFL Draft. Mardner attended the New York Giants rookie minicamp last week.

At his pro day, Mardner ran a 4.60 in the 40-yard dash, made 11 bench presses, a 35-inch vertical jump, and a 129-inch broad jump, 4.62 in the shuttle drill, and a 7.43 in the three-cone drill.

Collegiately, Mardner played four seasons at Hawaii (2018-21) making 62 catches for 1,270 yards, and 8 touchdowns in 34 games for the Rainbow Warriors. He was named an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention in 2021 after leading the team with 46 catches for 913 yards, and five touchdowns in 13 games.

Next, Mardner transferred to Cincinnati in 2022 making 19 catches for 218 yards, three touchdowns, and one carry for three yards in 12 games for the Bearcats. Then, Mardner transferred to Auburn in 2023 playing four games for the Tigers recording no stats.
