Ottawa Redblacks move two players to the retired list

The Ottawa Redblacks moved running back T.J. Hammonds and linebacker Josh White to the retired list on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

T.J. Hammonds is five foot ten and weighs 195 pounds. The 26-year-old from Little Rock, Arkansas, had 32 carries for 167 yards, one touchdown, 12 catches for 61 yards, and one kick return for 12 yards in 10 games for the Seattle Sea Dragons in 2023. The Sea Dragons drafted Hammonds in the second round (11th pick) in the 2023 XFL Draft. The Redblacks signed Hammonds as a free agent on May 6, 2024.

Collegiately, Hammonds played six seasons at Arkansas (2016-21) with 80 carries for 543 yards, two touchdowns, 13 catches for 221 yards, two touchdowns, and four kick returns for 50 yards in 50 games for the Razorbacks.

Josh White is six foot two and weighs 190 pounds. The 23-year-old from Regina, Saskatchewan, made 2 tackles in one preseason game for the Redblacks in 2023. The Redblacks drafted White in the third round (25th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft, and White signed with the team on December 6, 2023.

Collegiately, White played five seasons at the University of Regina (2018-23) with 189 tackles (115 solo, 74 assists), 24.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, 4 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery in 39 games for the Rams.
