Edmonton Elks release five players including DL Emeke Egbule

The Edmonton Elks released wide receiver Danny Davis III, offensive lineman T.J. Storment, defensive linemen Keyshon Camp and Emeke Egbule, and defensive back Donovan Olumba. In addition, the Elks moved offensive lineman Evan Anseeuw on the retired list.

Danny Davis III is six foot and weighs 194 pounds. The 26-year-old from Springfield, Ohio, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He played one preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers with two catches for 45 yards and one touchdown. Then, Davis III signed with the Edmonton Elks on December 6, 2023.

Collegiately, Davis III played five seasons at Wisconsin (2017-21) with 131 catches for 1,642 yards, 14 touchdowns, 25 carries for 245 yards, and two touchdowns in 51 games, of which 27 were starts for the Badgers. He was an Academic All-Big 10 in 2021.

T.J. Storment is six foot seven and weighs 320 pounds. The 26-year-old from Statesville, North Carolina, went undrafted in 2022 and attended the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants rookie minicamps before signing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on September 27, 2023, and was placed on the practice squad.

Then, Storment was drafted by the D.C. Defenders in the first round (8th pick) in Phase 4 of the 2023 XFL Draft. He played three games before being traded to the Orlando Guardians (XFL) in 2023 and played three games. Storment signed with the Edmonton Elks on April 30, 2024.

Collegiately, Storment played two seasons at Old Dominion (2016-17), playing right tackles in five games before transferring to Fullerton College for one season in 2018, playing six games and earning First Team All-Conference Honors. In 2019, Storment transferred to Colorado State, playing 12 games at left tackle before he transferred to TCU in 2020 playing nine games.

Storment concluded his collegiate career at Texas Tech in 2021, playing 13 games at left tackle. He was utilized for 708 total snaps, which ranked fourth on the offense, and graded out at 60.8 overall according to Pro Football Focus with a 69.9 grade in pass protection. He was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2021.

Keyshon Camp is six foot two and weighs 283 pounds. The 26-year-old from Lakeland, Florida, went undrafted and attended the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie mini-camp. played two games for the Birmingham Stallions in 2022 with six tackles, two tackles for loss, and two sacks as Birmingham won the 2022 USFL Championship.

Then, Camp signed with the Philadelphia Stars on April 27, 2023. In 2023, Kamp made ten tackles (5 solo, 5 assists) and half a sack in four games for the Philadelphia Stars (USFL). Camp signed with the Edmonton Elks on January 19, 2023.

Collegiately, Camp played five seasons at the University of Pittsburgh (2017-21) with 59 tackles (35 solo, 24 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 35 games for the Panthers. Camp was selected to play in the Tropical Bowl All-Star game and was named the Most Valuable Lineman.

Emeke Egbule is six foot two and weighs 245 pounds. The 27-year-old from Topeka, Kansas, was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the sixth round (200th pick) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He made 13 tackles (9 solo, 4 assists) and two quarterback hits in 32 games for the Chargers.

After Los Angeles, Egbule signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 and spent most of the season on the practice squad. Then, Egbule was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL) in the second round (11th pick) of the 2022 XFL Draft. He never played a game for the Battlehawks.

Then, Egbule signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks (UFL) on December 6, 2023, but was released on March 22, 2024. The Elks signed Egbule on May 18, 2023. In 2023, Egbule played two games for the Edmonton Elks with one tackle. Egbule re-signed with the Elks on March 26, 2024.

Collegiately, Egbule played four seasons at Houston (2015-18) with 164 tackles (98 solo, 66 assists), 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries in 52 games for the Cougars.

Donovan Olumba is six foot two and weighs 205 pounds. The 28-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He played one regular season game for the Cowboys in 2019. In addition, Olumba had stints with the Cleveland Browns, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Los Angeles Rams, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

 The Elks signed Olumba as a free agent on September 1, 2022. In 2022, Olumba made one interception in two games for the Elks. In 2023, Olumba made six tackles in three games. Olumba re-signed with the Elks on January 16, 2024.

Collegiately, Olumba played three seasons at Alderson-Broaddus University (2013-15) with 61 tackles (48 solo, 13 assists), six interceptions for 220 yards, two touchdowns, 13 punt returns for 143 yards, one touchdown, two fumble recoveries, and two blocked kicks in 30 games for the Battlers.

Then, Olumba transferred to Portland State in 2017 with 21 tackles (15 solo, 6 assists), two tackles for loss, and seven pass breakups in 11 games for the Vikings.

Evan Anseeuw is six foot three and weighs 280 pounds. The 23-year-old from Walsingham, Ontario, was drafted by the Edmonton Elks in the seventh round (57th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft.

Collegiately, Anseeuw played four seasons at York University (2019-23) playing right guard and right tackle in 19 games for the Lions. He attended the 2023 East-West Bowl but didn’t participate in the 2024 CFL Invitational Combine.
