Montreal Alouettes sign four players including WR Nicholas Gendron

The Montreal Alouettes signed wide receiver Nicholas Gendron, offensive lineman Donald Ventrelli, and defensive linemen Jordan Domineck and Aaron Lynch on Monday.

Nicholas Gendron is six foot one and weighs 185 pounds. The 25-year-old from Gatineau, Quebec, went undrafted in the 2024 CFL Draft. In 2023, Gendron made 31 catches for 535 yards, and two touchdowns in eight games for the Ottawa Gee-Gees on his way to being named Second Team OUA All-Star.

Gendron has played five seasons at the University of Ottawa (2019-23) making 69 catches for 1,120 yards, and five touchdowns in 22 games for the Gee-Gees. At the combine, Gendron benched 14, a 4.59 in the 40-yard Dash, 7.14 in the Cone Drills, and a 4.13 in the Shuttle Drills.

Donald Ventrelli is six foot four and weighs 300 pounds. The 23-year-old from St. Paul, Minnesota, attended the Chicago Bears rookie minicamp in 2024.

Collegiately, Ventrelli played five seasons at North Dakota (2019-23) playing right tackle, left tackle, and left guard in 52 games for the Fighting Hawks. In 2023, North Dakota’s offense ranked second in the MVFC and third nationally in completion percentage (70.3).

The North Dakota quarterbacks had the No. 14 passing efficiency rating nationally (153.02) with the help of his blocking, and Ventrelli was consistently one of the highest-graded offensive guards in 2023 in the FCS by Pro Football Focus.

Jordan Domineck is six foot three and weighs 250 pounds. The 24-year-old from Lakeland, Florida, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Collegiately, Domineck played four seasons at Georgia Tech (2018-21) making 103 tackles (54 solo, 49 assists), 17.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, six forced fumbles, and two pass breakups in 31 games for the Yellow Jackets. In 2020, Domineck led Georgia Tech in sacks (4) and ranked second in tackles for loss (8.5).

Next, Domineck transferred to Arkansas in 2022 making 34 tackles (19 solo, 15 assists), 9.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 13 games for the Razorbacks.

Then, Domineck transferred to Colorado in 2023 making 51 tackles (31 solo, 20 assists), 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, two pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one punt return for seven yards in 12 games for the Buffaloes.

Aaron Lynch is six foot five and weighs 285 pounds. The 31-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio, was drafted by the San Franciso 49ers in the fifth round (150th pick) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He played seven seasons in the NFL with the 49ers, Chicago Bears, and Jacksonville Jaguars making 111 tackles (86 solo, 25 assists), 37 tackles for loss, 66 quarterback hits, 21 sacks, one fumble recovery, 11 pass breakups, and one interception for 20 yards in 81 games, of which 22 were starts.

Collegiately, Lynch played one season at Notre Dame in 2011 making 33 tackles (19 solo, 14 assists), seven tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 12 games for the Fighting Irish. Then, Lynch transferred to the University of South Florida (2012-13) making 30 tackles (18 solo, 12 assists), 12.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 12 games for the Bulls. Lynch was named First Team All-AAC in 2013.
