The Houston Roughnecks signed running back Ezra Gray on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Ezra Gray is five foot seven and weighs 175 pounds. The 25-year-old from Lynn Haven, Florida, signed with the New Orleans Breakers (USFL) on May 20, 2022. In 2022, Gray had one carry for nine yards, three catches for 14 yards, and three kick returns for 71 yards in two games.
Next, Gray signed with the Memphis Showboats on May 10, 2023. In 2023, Gray had 17 carries for 86 yards and four catches for nine yards in two games. Then, the Houston Roughnecks drafted Gray in the 2024 UFL Super Dispersal Draft but released him on March 10, 2024.
Collegiately, Gray played six seasons at Alabama State (2016-21) with 756 carries for 1,959 yards, 11 touchdowns, 52 catches for 341 yards, three touchdowns, 68 kick returns for 1,482 yards, and eight tackles (6 solo, 2 assists) in 50 games for the Hornets. He was named a two-time First Team All-SWAC Conference in 2019 and 2021.
