The St. Louis Battlehawks released quarterback Drew Plitt on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Drew Plitt is six foot two and weighs 217 pounds. The 26-year-old from Loveland, Ohio, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent on July 27, 2022. Plitt played two preseason games for Cincinnati completing 7 of 8 passes (87.5%) for 93 yards, one touchdown, and one carry for seven yards. Plitt was released by the Bengals on August 23, 2022. Next, the Arlington Renegades signed Plitt as a free agent on November 15, 2022.
In 2023, Plitt completed 63 of 100 passes (63%) for 668 yards, three touchdowns, five interceptions, and 14 carries for 57 yards in five games for the Renegades helping them win the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders.
After the season, Plitt was released by the Renegades on November 20, 2023, and signed with the Cincinnati Bengals on the same day before being placed on the practice squad. The Bengals did not renew his contract and the Arlington Renegades re-signed Plitt on February 8, 2024, and released him on March 10, 2024. The St. Louis Battlehawks signed Plitt on May 16, 2024.
Collegiately, Plitt played five seasons at Ball State (2017-21) completing 777 of 1,246 passes (62%) for 9,061 yards, 68 touchdowns, 30 interceptions, 322 carries for 423 yards, 14 touchdowns, and three catches for 21 yards in 46 games for the Cardinals.
Plitt was named Second Team All-MAC, BSU Offensive Player of the Year, the MAC Championship MVP in 2020, and the Ball State Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2019.
