The B.C. Lions released fullback Dylan St. Pierre and transferred linebacker Forrest Rhyne to the suspended list on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Dylan St. Pierre is six foot two and weighs 227 pounds. The 26-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario, signed with the B.C. Lions February 6, 2023, and spent the season on the practice squad.
Collegiately, St. Pierre played five seasons at the University of Ottawa (2017-22). He started as a tight end before converting to fullback. He made 45 catches for 444 yards, five touchdowns, four carries for 20 yards, and 15 tackles (10 solo, 5 assists) in 33 games for the Gee-Gees. He participated in the CFL National Combine and the FBS All-Americans Tropical Bowl in Orlando, FL in 2021.
St. Pierre’s breakout season came in 2018 with 16 catches for 208 yards, four touchdowns, one carry for ten yards, and nine tackles (7 solo, 2 assists) in eight games. In 2019, St. Pierre made 23 catches for 212 yards, one touchdown, three carries for ten yards, and three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in eight games.
Forrest Rhyne is six foot one and weighs 233 pounds. The 24-year-old from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He played three regular season games for the Colts in 2022 with one tackle (1 solo).
Next, Rhyne signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 13, 2023. He made one tackle (solo) in two preseason games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023. Then, Rhyne signed with the B.C. Lions on December 22, 2023.
Collegiately, Rhyne played five seasons at Villanova (2017-21) with 309 tackles (130 solo, 179 assists), 25.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 45 games for the Wildcats. He was a three-time First Team All-CAA (2019-21), CAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2021, and First Team FCS All-American in 2021.
