The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed defensive lineman Darrius Moragne and placed linebacker Penei Pavihi on the one-game injured list on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Darrius Moragne is six foot five and weighs 295 pounds. The 26-year-old from Holland, Michigan, played for the Jousters (TSL) in 2021 helping them to appear in the Mega Bowl where they lost to the Linemen.

In 2022, Moragne was drafted by the Pittsburgh Maulers (USFL) in the tenth round (354th pick) of the 2022 USFL Supplemental Draft. He made 16 tackles (9 solo, 7 assists), three tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in five games before an injury sidelined him and was later released.

In 2023, Moragne had signed a letter of intent to play for the San Antonio Brahmas before the XFL and USFL merged to form the United Football League (UFL) and later signed with the Arlington Renegades on February 19, 2024. Moragne did not play for the Renegades in 2024 and was released on May 23, 2024.

Collegiately, Moragne played one season at Arizona Western College in 2017 making 13 tackles (3 solo, 10 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, and one pass breakup in nine games for the Matadors. Then, he transferred to Kansas (2018-19) making 45 tackles (34 solo, 11 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one pass breakup in 15 games for the Jayhawks.

Penei Pavihi is six foot three and weighs 245 pounds. The 23-year-old from Tafuna, American Samoa, was selected in the first round (4th pick) in the 2023 CFL Global Draft. In 2023, Pavihi made four tackles and two tackles on special teams in 17 games for the Ticats.

Collegiately, Pavihi played five seasons at the University of Hawaii (2017-22) with 233 tackles (132 solo, 101 assists), 20 tackles for loss, six sacks, two interceptions for 52 yards, one touchdown, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in 60 games for the Rainbow Warriors. In his final season, Pavihi made 78 tackles (47 solo, 31 assists), five tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for 50 yards, and two pass breakups in 13 games.
