Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign wide receiver Dezmon Patmon

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed wide receiver Dezmon Patmon and placed defensive back Shabari Davis Jr. on the suspended list on Sunday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Dezmon Patmon is six foot four and weighs 225 pounds. The 25-year-old from San Diego, California, was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round (212th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons in Indianapolis making four catches for 45 yards, and one touchdown in ten games.

Then, the Buffalo Bills signed Patmon as a free agent on January 23, 2023. In 2023, Patmon made three catches for 35 yards, and one touchdown in two preseason games for the Buffalo Bills. After he was released by the Bills, Patmon signed with the Carolina Panthers and was placed on the practice squad.

After Buffalo, Patmon signed with the Michigan Panthers as a free agent on February 5, 2024, but was released on March 21, 2024. Then, Patmon signed with the B.C. Lions on March 25, 2024, but was released on May 15, 2024.

Collegiately, Patmon played four seasons at Washington State (2016-19) making 156 catches for 1,976 yards, and 13 touchdowns in 43 games for the Cougars.

Shabari Davis Jr. is six foot and weighs 193 pounds. The 27-year-old from Garden City, Georgia, signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2022. Davis Jr. made two tackles (2 solo) in two preseason games for the Jaguars in 2022.

Next, Davis Jr. was drafted by the Seattle Sea Dragons (XFL) and appeared in one game against the Vegas Vipers in 2023 but recorded no stats. Davis Jr. signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on January 8, 2024. Davis Jr. played one preseason game against the Ottawa Redblacks making one tackle.

Collegiately, Davis Jr. played five seasons at Southeast Missouri State (2017-21) with 98 tackles (75 solo, 23 assists), three tackles for loss, eight interceptions for 132 yards, one touchdown, 33 pass breakups, one forced fumble, 15 kick returns for 379 yards, one touchdown, 38 punt returns for 403 yards, and one touchdown in 52 games for the Redhawks. He was named Second Team All-OVC in 2020 as a punt returner.
