The Montreal Alouettes released 20 players including wide receiver Tevin Jones while adding 12 players to the practice squad and suspending two players who are returning to school on Saturday.

Tevin Jones is six foot two and weighs 225 pounds. The 31-year-old from Amory, Mississippi, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on February 7, 2024. He played in one preseason game against the Toronto Argonauts making two catches for six yards.

Before Saskatchewan, Jones signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He also had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played five NFL regular season games for the Steelers in 2019 making four catches for 61 yards.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Jones as a free agent on April 21, 2022. In 2022, Jones made 20 catches for 265 yards, three touchdowns, and three kick returns for 49 yards in 14 games. In 2023, Jones made 65 catches for 882 yards, and three touchdowns in 17 games.

Collegiately, Jones played five seasons at Memphis (2011-15) with 90 catches for 1,215 yards, nine touchdowns, 22 carries for 89 yards, two touchdowns, and one touchdown on a blocked punt in 51 games for the Tigers.
