The St. Louis Battlehawks (7-3) hosted the San Antonio Brahmas (7-3) on Saturday afternoon in front of 34,379 fans from The Dome at America’s Center. The Brahmas had a chance to win the game but kicker Ryan Santoso missed a 51-yard field goal and the St. Louis Battlehawks won the game 13-12 to host the XFL Conference Championship Game next Sunday.

St. Louis had 199 yards on offense. Quarterback A.J. McCarron completed 10 of 24 passes (42%) for 115 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and one carry for 12 yards. In the second quarter, McCarron threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Steven Mitchell Jr. for a 7-0 lead with 11:54 left.

Running back Jacob Saylors led the rushers with 12 carries for 50 yards, and two catches for seven yards. The rushers finished the day with 23 carries for 105 yards. Wide receiver Jahcour Pearson led the receivers making three catches for 36 yards. The receivers made 10 catches for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Kicker Andre Szmyt made two field goals with a long of 38 yards. St. Louis’s defense made 67 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

San Antonio had 272 yards on offense. Quarterback Quinten Dormady completed 15 of 27 passes (56%) for 188 yards, and one touchdown. In the fourth quarter, Dormady threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Jontre Kirklin and the score was 13-12 with 1:56 left in the game. Quarterback Chase Garbers completed 5 of 11 passes (45%) for 40 yards, and three carries for five yards.

Running back Morgan Ellison led the rushers with 11 carries for 43 yards and one touchdown. In the third quarter, Ellison scored a six-yard touchdown and the score was 10-6 St. Louis with 10:39 left. The rushers finished the day with 17 carries for 56 yards, and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Jontre Kirklin led the receivers making seven catches for 127 yards, and one touchdown. The receivers finished the afternoon making 20 catches for 288 yards, and one touchdown.

Kicker Ryan Santoso missed two field goals. San Antonio’s defense made 50 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, and eight pass breakups.
