Memphis Showboats secure the No. 1 Pick in the 2025 UFL Draft

The Memphis Showboats (2-8) hosted the Houston Roughnecks (1-9) on Sunday night from Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in the final game of the 2024 UFL season. Leading into this game, the UFL announced that the winner of the game would get the number one overall pick in the 2025 UFL Draft. When it was all said and done, the Showboats beat the Roughnecks 19-12.

Memphis had 203 yards on offense. Quarterback Josh Love completed 20 of 29 passes (69%) for 152 yards, one interception, and four carries for four yards. Running back Darius Victor led the rushers with 10 carries for 54 yards, two touchdowns, and two catches for nine yards.

In the third quarter, Victor scored a two-yard touchdown for a 12-3 lead with 5:55 left. In the fourth quarter, Victor scored a two-yard touchdown for a 19-12 lead with 6:10 left in the game. Memphis’s rushers finished the night with 15 carries for 58 yards, and two touchdowns.

Wide receiver Jonathan Adams led the receivers making six catches for 59 yards while tight end Sage Surratt made three catches for 30 yards. Memphis’s receivers finished the night making 20 catches for 152 yards.

Kicker Matt Coghlin made two field goals with a long of 46 yards. Memphis’s defense made 40 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, five pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

Houston had 203 yards on offense. Quarterback Nolan Henderson completed 21 of 34 passes (62%) for 232 yards, and four carries for 43 yards. Quarterback Reid Sinnett completed 1 of 2 passes (50%) for 16 yards, and one interception.

Running back Kirk Merritt led the rushers with 11 carries for 100 yards, and one touchdown. Houston’s rushers finished the night with 31 carries for 180 yards, and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Justin Hall led the receivers making eight catches for 70 yards. The receivers finished the night making 22 catches for 248 yards. Kicker J.J. Molson made two field goals with a long of 39 yards. Houston’s defense made 49 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, six pass breakups, and one forced fumble.
