Hamilton Tiger-Cats add defensive lineman Kobe Jones to the active roster

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats added defensive lineman Kobe Jones to the active roster on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page. The Ticats placed Jones on the suspended list on June 2, 2024.

Kobe Jones is six foot three and weighs 255 pounds. The 26-year-old from Starkville, Mississippi, signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2021. He also had stints with the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers, and Carolina Panthers.

Jones appeared in two NFL regular season games with both Green Bay and Carolina. In the 2023 preseason in Carolina, Jones made 8 tackles (1 solo, 7 assists) and one pass breakup in three games. Then, Jones signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on May 13, 2024. Jones appeared in two preseason games for the Ticats in 2024 recording no stats.

Collegiately, Jones played four seasons at Mississippi State (2017-20) making 100 tackles (41 solo, 59 assists), 21.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 49 games for the Bulldogs. Jones was a two-time Wuerffel Trophy Candidate in 2019 and 2020.
