The Birmingham Stallions are expected to release defensive tackle Dondrea Tillman on Monday as he is expected to work out and sign with the Denver Broncos according to KPRC 2 reporter Aaron Wilson.
Dondrea Tillman is six foot three and weighs 270 pounds. The 26-year-old from Sterling, Virginia, played for the Conquerors (TSL) in 2021. Then, the Birmingham Stallions drafted Tillman in the third round (303rd pick) of the 2022 USFL Supplemental Draft. In 2022, he made 34 tackles (20 solo, 14 assists), seven tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and five pass breakups in nine games for the Stallions in 2022 when they beat the Philadelphia Stars in the USFL Championship Game.
In 2023, Tillman made 32 tackles (12 solo, 20 assists), three tackles for loss, four sacks, and six pass breakups in ten games helping them win their second straight USFL Championship. After the season, he worked out for the Atlanta Falcons but was never offered a contract.
In 2024, Tillman made 27 tackles (19 solo, 8 assists), six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 10 games. In the playoffs, Tillman made seven tackles (4 solo, 3 assists), one tackle for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and two pass breakups helping the Stallions win the 2024 UFL Championship over the San Antonio Brahmas 25-0.
Collegiately, Tillman played four seasons at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2016-19) with 174 tackles (84 solo, 90 assists), 43 tackles for loss, 30 sacks, two interceptions for 70 yards, three touchdowns, ten pass breakups, seven forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 48 games for the Crimson Hawks. He is a two-time All-PSAC West selection, Second Team All-PSAC in 2017, and First Team All-PSAC in 2018.
