The Birmingham Stallions are set to release running back Ricky Person Jr. on Tuesday as he is signing with the Seattle Seahawks according to KPRC 2 reporter Aaron Wilson.

Ricky Person Jr. is six foot one and weighs 222 pounds. The 24-year-old from Wake Forest, North Carolina, signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2022. He was released by the Ravens on February 28, 2023.

Then, Person Jr. signed with the Birmingham Stallions on May 3, 2023. In 2023, Person Jr. had 14 carries for 83 yards, one touchdown, and two kick returns for 38 yards in four games. In the playoffs, Person Jr. had 16 carries for 122 yards, and one catch for 24 yards helping the Stallions win their second USFL Championship in 2023.

In 2024, Person Jr. had 93 carries for 297 yards, six touchdowns, and 13 catches for 150 yards in nine games for the Stallions. In the playoffs, Person Jr. had 18 carries for 109 yards, and three catches for 21 yards helping the Stallions win the UFL Championship over the San Antonio Brahmas 25-0. It was Birmingham’s third consecutive championship (2 in USFL, 1 UFL).

Collegiately, Person Jr. played four seasons at North Carolina State University (2018-22) with 455 carries for 1,979 yards, 14 touchdowns, completing one of two passes (50%) for two yards, one touchdown, and one interception, making 57 catches for 482 yards, four touchdowns, four kick returns for 95 yards, and eight tackles (5 solo, 3 assists) in 40 games for the Wolfpack.

 He earned the team’s Ken McNeill Iron Wolf Award which is given to a player who makes a comeback from injury. He missed the 2021 season with a shoulder injury.
