The Montreal Alouettes signed offensive lineman Ezzat Elnagmi to the practice squad on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Ezzat Elnagmi is six foot five and weighs 320 pounds. The 23-year-old from London, England, was invited to the 2024 CFL Invitational Combine from the University of Waterloo’s Feridun Hamdullahpur Field House.
However, he did not participate in the combine. As a result, Elnagmi did not get drafted in the 2024 CFL Global Draft. Before the CFL, Elnagmi played rugby for five years before playing football for the Leicester Falcons for one season and the University West of the of England helping them win the national championship.
Elnagmi played two seasons at St. Clair College (CJFL) (2022-23) playing left tackle, right guard, right tackle, and center in 21 games for the Saints. He was named the OFC Offensive Player of the Year in 2023. Elnagmi also won the team’s Dr. Patti France Award for Leadership in Athletics in 2023. The award is given to a St. Clair College athlete who best demonstrates the traits of leadership.
In 2023, the St. Clair College Saints averaged 38.3 points per game, 442.5 yards per game, 232.7 passing yards per game, 209.7 rushing yards per game, 47 touchdowns, and allowed 25 sacks in 11 games finishing the season 10-1 losing to the Saskatoon Hilltops in the CJFL Semi-Finals.
In 2022, the St. Clair College Saints averaged 44.6 points per game, 450 yards per game, 200.7 passing yards per game, 249.3 rushing yards per game, 56 touchdowns, and allowed 19 sacks in 11 games where they finished the season 10-1 losing to the Okanagan Sun in the CJFL Semi-Finals.
