Hamilton Tiger-Cats release wide receiver Khaleb Hood

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats released wide receiver Khaleb Hood from the practice squad on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Khaleb Hood is five foot ten and weighs 180 pounds. The 24-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2024, and attended their rookie minicamp. The Ticats signed Hood on June 26, 2024.

Collegiately, Hood played five seasons at Georgia Southern (2019-23) making 252 catches for 2,692 yards, 10 touchdowns, 25 carries for 162 yards, one touchdown, 30 kick returns for 514 yards, 54 punt returns for 413 yards, one touchdown, four tackles (4 solo), and one forced fumble in 64 games for the Eagles.

In 2023, Hood made 101 catches for 948 yards, five touchdowns, three carries for 23 yards, and 25 punt returns for 191 yards in 13 games. Hood was named a two-time Second Team All-Sun Belt (2022-23), and an All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention in 2021.

Hood holds several records for Georgia Southern including career receptions (252), career receiving yards (2,692), career 100-yard receiving games (6), single-season receptions (101), and single-season receiving yards (948).
