The Calgary Stampeders signed linebacker Diego Fagot to the practice squad on Monday.
Diego Fagot is six foot three and weighs 238 pounds. The 26-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 23, 2022.
He made four tackles (4 solo) in two preseason games before he was released on August 23, 2022. After Baltimore, Fagot was drafted by the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) in the ninth round (68th pick) in Phase 3 of the 2022 XFL Draft but was released before the season started.
Next, Fagot signed with the New England Patriots as a free agent on July 24, 2023. He made 11 tackles (6 solo, 5 assists) in three preseason games for the New England Patriots in 2023.
Then, Fagot signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on February 27, 2024. He played in two preseason games making one interception before he was released on June 1, 2024.
Collegiately, Fagot played four seasons at Navy (2018-21) making 282 tackles (148 solo, 134 assists), 35.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, two interceptions for 17 yards, one touchdown, five pass breakups, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one touchdown, one carry for four yards, and one kick return for four yards in 42 games for the Midshipmen.
