The NTT IndyCar Series visited Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa, for the Hy-Vee Homefront 250. It was the first race of a doubleheader weekend. Andretti Global driver Colton Herta started the race on the pole with Team Penske driver Scott McLaughlin starting second.

Colton Herta led the first 86 laps. During the second caution, Scott McLaughlin’s pit crew got him out ahead of Herta.

McLaughlin led the last 164 laps to win his second race of the season over Pato O’Ward by .4814 seconds. It was also McLaughlin’s sixth career win in the IndyCar Series. The rest of the top five finishers were Josef Newgarden third, Scott Dixon fourth, and Rinus VeeKay fifth.

The doubleheader concludes on Sunday with the Hy-Vee One Step 250 at 12 pm on NBC. Subscribe to Fubo to watch all of the 2024 NTT IndyCar Series season. Purchase tickets for all IndyCar races today on StubHub and Viagogo.
