The NTT IndyCar Series concluded the weekend at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa, on Sunday afternoon in the Hy-Vee One Step 250. Team Penske driver Scott McLaughlin, who won Saturday night’s race, was on the pole along with Chip Ganassi Racing driver Alex Palou starting second to make up the front row.

Scott McLaughlin led the opening 94 laps. Alex Palou took over the lead after McLaughlin made a pit stop on lap 95. On lap 101, the first caution came out when Agustin Canapino suffered a mechanical failure on the back stretch and had to be towed to pit road. During the caution, Alex Palou made a pit stop. Will Power, who started in 22nd place was the new leader under caution and went to pit road handing the lead back to Palou on lap 107.

Palou led up to lap 204 before making his final scheduled pit stop and Will Power took the lead. He led a couple of laps before pitting and Linus Lundqvist took the lead. Lundqvist led three laps before making a pit stop, and Will Power took the lead once and for all.

Will Power led the last 41 laps of the race. As he was about to cross the start/finish line on the final lap of the race, a four-car pileup happened at the exit of turn 2 when Sting Ray Robb’s car hit Alexander Rossi’s car sending it up in the air before landing upside down. The car skidded before coming to a stop at turn 3, while Ed Carpenter and Kyle Kirkwood were also involved.

Sting Ray Robb was extracted from the car. He was loaded into the ambulance and was transported to the medical center. A.J. Foyt Racing updated Robb’s condition saying he is “up, alert, and in good spirits.” Will Power went on to win his second race of the season by 0.3915 over Alex Palou.

With the win, Power cuts Palou’s championship lead in the standings to 35 points with six races remaining in the season. It was also Power’s first oval win since 2019 at Pocono. The rest of the top five finishers were Scott McLaughlin third, Scott Dixon fourth, and Colton Herta fifth.
