The Ottawa Redblacks signed defensive back Adrian Frye to the practice squad on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Adrian Frye is six foot and weighs 205 pounds. The 25-year-old from Houston, Texas, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Frye made six tackles (5 solo, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in three preseason games for the New Orleans Saints in 2023.
Then, Frye signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on January 24, 2024. In a preseason game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2024, Frye made three tackles earning a spot on the practice squad. The Redblacks released him on June 10, 2024.
Collegiately, Frye played five seasons at Texas Tech (2018-22) with 101 tackles (76 solo, 25 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions for 55 yards, one touchdown, 26 pass breakups, one forced fumble, one blocked punt, and 28 punt returns for 146 yards in 51 games for the Red Raiders. He was named First Team All-Big 12, and Freshman All-American in 2018.
