Saskatchewan Roughriders OL Jermarcus Hardrick to miss time with a quad injury

Saskatchewan Roughriders offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick will miss some significant time with a quad injury according to head coach Corey Mace on Tuesday.

Jermarcus Hardrick is six foot five and weighs 317 pounds. The 34-year-old from Batesville, Mississippi, Hardrick signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2012.

He also spent time with the New Orleans Saints, Utah Blaze (AFL), B.C. Lions, Tampa Bay Storm (AFL), and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In 2014, he played 12 games, of which 10 were starts for the B.C. Lions. In 2015, he started eight games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Hardrick as a free agent on February 17, 2016. Hardrick spent seven seasons in Winnipeg playing 113 games. He helped the Blue Bombers win two Grey Cup championships in 2019 and 2021. In addition, he is a three-time CFL West All-Star and a two-time CFL All-Star.

In 2023, Hardrick played 18 games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers helping them reach the Grey Cup for the fourth straight season.

Winnipeg’s offense ranked first in total points (594), average points per game (31.7), offensive touchdowns (62), average net offense per game (414.7), average rushing yards per game (139.1), second in offensive touchdowns (65), average passing yards per game (292.4), and sacks allowed (33).

The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Hardrick on February 13, 2024. This season, Hardrick played five games. Saskatchewan’s offense is ranked fourth in average points (27.0), offensive touchdowns (14), ninth in average net offense (331.8), seventh in average rushing yards (70.0), and sixth in average passing yards (276.6).

Collegiately, Hardrick played two seasons at Fort Scott Community College (2008-09). In 2009, the Greyhounds’ offense averaged better than 30 points per game and led the Jayhawk Conference in total offense, averaging more than 420 yards per game. He was named First Team All-Conference.

Then, he transferred to Nebraska (2010-11) playing 27 games for the Cornhuskers. In 2011, the Cornhuskers’ offense ranked 15th nationally in rushing offense at 217.2 yards per game. In addition, Nebraska rolled up better than 200 rushing yards seven times in 2011, including three games with at least 300 yards on the ground.
