Temple linebacker Yvandy Rigby drafted by Memphis Showboats

On Wednesday, the United Football League held its 2024 College Draft. The Memphis Showboats drafted Temple linebacker Yvandy Rigby in the seventh round (49th pick).

Yvandy Rigby is six foot two and weighs 230 pounds. The 24-year-old from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. His deal with the Ravens is three years for $2.8 million.

Collegiately, Rigby played five seasons at Temple University (2019-23) making 207 tackles (114 solo, 93 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 35 games for the Owls. In 2023, Rigby made 68 tackles (31 solo, 37 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in eight games.

Rigby attended Egg Harbor Township High School. He played in the Phil Simms NJ North-South All-Star Football Classic his senior year and ran track. Then, Rigby played safety for coach Bill Chaplick at Milford Academy in New Berlin, New York, helping the team go 10-2 in the season making 57 tackles, 4 sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble.
