The Toronto Argonauts signed defensive lineman Woody Baron on Wednesday.
Woody Baron is six foot one and weighs 270 pounds. The 30-year-old from Chicago, Illinois, signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. Baron was among the final cuts in training camp.
Next, Baron signed with the Montreal Alouettes on March 18, 2018. He played three seasons with the Montreal Alouettes with 71 tackles, 11 sacks, and one forced fumble in 50 games.
Then, the B.C. Lions signed Baron on February 14, 2022. In 2022, he made seven tackles and one sack in six games for the Lions. He missed part of the 2022 season with an ankle injury.
A year later, Baron made 22 tackles, eight sacks, and one forced fumble in 17 games for the B.C. Lions in 2023. The Lions released Baron on February 9, 2024.
Collegiately, Baron played four seasons at Virginia Tech (2013-16) with 99 tackles (55 solo, 44 assists), 27.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 52 games for the Hokies.
