Ottawa Redblacks release offensive lineman Eric Starczala

The Ottawa Redblacks released offensive lineman Eric Starczala from the practice squad on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Eric Starczala is six foot five and weighs 315 pounds. The 27-year-old from Cambridge, Ontario, was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the seventh round (62nd pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft.

Next, Starczala signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on December 12, 2022. He played one game for Ottawa in 2023 before being released on August 15, 2023. He later re-signed with the Redblacks on September 26, 2023, and was placed on the practice squad. In 2024, Starczala appeared in one preseason game against the Montreal Alouettes.

Collegiately, Starczala played five seasons at Guelph University (2015-19) playing right tackle in 17 games for the Gryphons and was named a two-time OUA Second-Team All-Star.
