Houston Roughnecks sign defensive back Malik Dunlap

The Houston Roughnecks signed defensive back Malik Dunlap on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Malik Dunlap is six foot three and weighs 220 pounds. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dunlap attended the New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp in 2024. The Roughnecks drafted Dunlap in the ninth round (66th pick) in the 2024 UFL College Draft.

Collegiately, Dunlap played three seasons at North Carolina State (2018-21) making 41 tackles (25 solo, 16 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and 14 pass breakups in 23 games for the Wolfpack.

Then, Dunlap transferred to Texas Tech (2021-23) making 76 tackles (62 solo, 14 assists), one tackle for loss, four interceptions for 77 yards, one touchdown, 23 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 32 games for the Red Raiders.

In 2023, Dunlap made 36 tackles (31 solo, 5 assists), half a tackle for loss, three interceptions for 77 yards, one touchdown, 10 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 13 games.
