The San Antonio Brahmas signed defensive back Tyler Boatwright and released offensive lineman Julie’n Davenport on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Tyler Boatwright is six foot one and weighs 170 pounds. A native of Hillsborough, New Jersey, Boatwright attended the New York Jets rookie minicamp in 2024.
Collegiately, Boatwright played six seasons at Central Connecticut State University (2018-23) making 71 tackles (51 solo, 20 assists), two tackles for loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, 22 pass breakups, and two blocked punts in 33 games for the Blue Devils.
He was named Second Team All-Northeast Conference in 2021 after making 26 tackles (19 solo, 7 assists), one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and eight pass breakups in eight games. In high school, Boatwright was selected to the NJFCA Super 100 Team as a senior and the recipient of the 2016 Shawn Mayer Award (Offensive MVP).
Julie’n Davenport is six foot seven and weighs 315 pounds. The 29-year-old from Paulsboro, New Jersey, was drafted by the Houston Texans in the fourth round (130th pick) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played 27 games, of which 19 were starts in two seasons with the Texans.
In 2019, the Texans traded Davenport to the Miami Dolphins. He played 24 games, of which nine were starts for the Dolphins. After Miami, Davenport signed with the Indianapolis Colts on March 21, 2021, and played nine games, of which were starts. Davenport would then spend time with the Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and New York Giants.
The New York Giants signed Davenport as a free agent on August 16, 2023. He played two preseason games for the New York Giants in 2023. Then, Davenport signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on April 18, 2024. He played four games, of which one was a start.
In 2024, San Antonio’s offense ranked fourth in total yards (2,966), rushing yards (962), third in passing (2,004), fourth in yards per game (296.6), and tied fifth in touchdowns (24) finishing 7-3 and reaching the UFL Championship Game against the Birmingham Stallions.
Collegiately, Davenport played four seasons at Bucknell University (2013-16) playing left tackle starting 44 games for the Bison. He was named Second Team All-Patriot League and a three-time First Team All-Patriot League.
In 2016, Bucknell’s offensive line blocked for a 1,000-yard rusher in Joey DeFloria (1,070 yards, 10 TDs) as well as number two running back Chad Freshnock, who had another 604 yards and 10 touchdowns.
