The Cleveland Browns signed Birmingham Stallions offensive lineman Zack Johnson on Saturday according to Aaron Wilson. The Stallions will retain Johnson’s rights should he decide to return to the UFL.

Zack Johnson is six foot six and weighs 315 pounds. The 26-year-old from Apple Valley, Minnesota, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2021 and was placed on the practice squad. He would also spend time with the Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, and Baltimore Ravens.

Johnson signed with the Tennessee Titans on December 21, 2022. He played one NFL regular season game for the Tennessee Titans in 2022 and was released on August 27, 2023. Johnson signed with the Birmingham Stallions on October 11, 2023. He played 10 regular season games plus two playoff games for the Stallions. He was named to the All-UFL Team in 2024.

In 2024, Birmingham’s offense ranked first in total yards (3,475), rushing yards (1,347), second in passing yards (2,128), first in yards per game (347.5), and touchdowns (31) as the Stallions won the UFL Championship over the San Antonio Brahmas 25-0.

Collegiately, Johnson played five seasons at North Dakota State (2012-16) playing left guard in 54 games for the Bisons. In 2015, he was part of an offensive line that ranked first in the FCS in time of possession (36:38) and third in total first downs (329) while leading the Missouri Valley Football Conference in fewest sacks, and tackles for loss allowed per game.

Johnson helped the Bisons win three FCS National championships. He was named First Team AP All-American in 2016, Second Team All-MVFC in 2013, and played in the 2017 East-West Shrine Game.
